I’ve got a few books in progress that are not holding my interest well. I don’t like abandoning books, but I’d rather not lose momentum on reading writ large

Playing more with the various LLM tools – and these things, while interesting and deeply promising, are just not accurate as search engines. Even when they can search the web, they cite sources that say the opposite of what they summarize in many cases.

A great, super promising starting point, but only a starting point.

I have asked ChatGPT numerous things in the same way I would a search engine, and tbh it’s bleakly inaccurate if you fact check it at all

The boy had a great soccer day today – congratulated and clapped for his teammate when they won a medal for teamwork!

Mostly recovered now from a Mother’s Day weekend that had us all together, only to all get norovirus or some other gross sickness.

Had to skip our date night last night due to wife & son feeling a bit weird. Then headed out for long Mother’s Day weekend at my parents’ – where our son threw up. My bro and his wife are also under the weather. Lovely.

Alright, really diving into Jedi: Survivor tonight. Starts out strong and swinging!

Afternoon ice cream with the fam at Culver’s. Perfect warm spring day for it.

Little guy got a medal at soccer today for showing humility and sportsmanship. More lessons to learn at 5, but we were proud when he congratulated a teammate.

Hopefully we’re on for kiddo’s soccer game today – bad weather cancelled last week and we’re on for rain again today, but the kids want to play!

Just traded the iMac for a MacBook, and the 12.9 iPad Pro for a mini. Shaking up the setup for a bit more portability and versatility.

What started as a mild body ache for me last Sat progressed through the week to a double ear infection for the kid and full nasty colds for both Mom and me. Finally starting to be done.

Little boy home sick today, and looks like he’s developed an ear infection during the day. Hopefully a good night’s sleep and a bit of meds take care of things.

New flooring down in the basement, and new wall is primed. It’s even nicer now than when we moved in. Such a nice relief to have a project coming together.

First weekend day a success - pulled up all the rest of the basement carpet and baseboards. Priming tomorrow, new floors on Monday

Headed to the diner for a St. Patrick’s Day dinner soon. Happy the weekend is finally here.

The switch to daylight saving time is completely insane. Waking up is the worst for a week

Tore up a whole room’s full of carpet yesterday. Replacement basement floor in a week!

Made it through the rest of the work week. Now to do lots of house work in the basement!

Getting more home stuff fixed up. Almost time to transition from what contractors are doing to what I’m doing myself.

Having real trouble with being a dad at bedtime lately. 5 years old brings lots of not listening, time wasting, and general patience thinning behaviors to work through

Big Dad and boy day yesterday while Mom worked. Church, lunch, kids’ program at the library.

Breakfast and Saturday morning cartoons with the kiddo while Mom is out relaxing with friends.

Headed to the chamber orchestra with my love tonight. Buying the whole season of performances was the right idea for sure.

When you can’t give yourself any grace and feel like you’re some kind of ruthless criminal for not being able to clean your bathrooms for weeks.

Not doing the greatest job so far this week at finding peace and calm amid the chaotic regular routine.

Didn’t get a lot “done” today, but spent some time with the little guy.

This year, suddenly getting into pens, paper, and handwriting things. Didn’t see that coming.

We’re looking to get an EV later this year. Despite the Twitter distractions with Elon, my attempt at objectively looking keeps coming up on the wide lead that Tesla seems to have in innovation and value.

Definitely ready for the long weekend. Naps, yoga, weight lifting, and some videos games are right about what I need after this week.

The six month wait for new windows in the house is over!

Great Sunday with the family. Got a lot of house work done, things cleaned up. Took the boy outside to play in the snow and then let him stay up late to watch football – he had a lot of fun with it!

Really grateful to my wife for taking the boy outside to play in the snow while I napped and did yoga. Needed that to cure a headache.

I think I’m up for a 45-minute yoga today.

Definitely needed the weekend to show up. Combo of work and shoveling snow this week was a real haul.

Another 3am wake up from the kiddo, but might finally have an ingenious dad plan to put this tendency to bed, literally.

Kiddo made me laugh a few different ways tonight.

The little guy is definitely a creature of habit, especially with bedtime routine. Definitely like his dad.

Finally getting things scheduled to repair the part of our basement that was wrecked by water 18 months ago.

Getting a late start to work. Nice to have a shower and finish breakfast, but now there are messages and emails all over the place.

5yo keeps getting out of his bed at about 1AM and crawling in with us.

Made our first Costco run in a couple of months, and yikes.

Coffee number 2 after church. Challenging morning with the little guy. Gotta get out for groceries soon.

Trying out the remastered Age of Empires II that just came out for Xbox. Really awesome actually!

Got a Ryobi electric snow mover attachment for my edger/trimmer/etc. head. Was skeptical of the utility at first, but it’s amazing for clearing off a deck or a path.

Just tried ChatGPT for the first time. I’ve seen it, but using it myself is just wow… mind blowing.
